Check my post above and you'll see a little bit about how the USComposites stuff has fared for durability. I've had this epoxy on two boats for around two years and it is holding up very well. My fishing kayak is painted with acrylic latex, but has numerous scrapes and large bare spots where I have met rocks, stumps, etc. The epoxy is holding up very well and is very durable. There has been no flaking, degrading, or soft spots. On the contrary...it seemed to get harder for quite awhile. One thing I might mention is that I wait for a month to three months to do the painting or varnishing. I use to build boats quite a bit when I was younger, but got away from it for awhile. Now that I've started back I've used only the RAKA and USComposites epoxy. They both have worked fine. I would certainly like to find a water clear epoxy...but that probably won't happen. I also will never quit trying to find new and better ways to do things The comments and information on this board are invaluable.
