Thanks for the reassurance. I too, slapped the US Composite epoxy on this boat, not only because I have some, but because it probably won't get used on very many wood projects mainly because of my preferance to Raka. As for cost, the two coats on this 13 footer took 28oz at $0.24/per oz is $6.72. That seems really cheap. Even with Raka at 0.44/oz the cost would only have been $12.40. Add to that the System Three pigment and throw away supplies and it's still way under $20.

Can I really spray varnish for UV protection out of a can? This boat is nothing special and will only be a day/fishing kayak. Any brands to recommend or stay away from? I would really appreciate it.

PS The epoxy prices are from the net with 1.5 gal quantity at $46 for US Comp and $85 for Raka (350 hardener) (additional shipping charge should be about equal).
