A quick question. I was reading over Ted Henry's web page and enjoying his comments about the "color band" that is often created during the S&G process by taping the outside of the butt (or other) seam. He had several interesting ideas for work arounds to avoid the color band. One in particular caught my attention:
"Another possibility is to sand off the outside tape once the panels are glued together but before the fiberglass layer is applied."

I would like to find away around this problem with the boat I'm currently building. It would take me little time to do this and I'm at the perfect place to do it. I am of course concerned about the structural issues of doing this? I am constructing an Osprey Double that will be used relatively gently..i.e. no rock beaches here. I am glassing the inside of the hull and have taped the inside seams as well. Thanks for the feedback. No disrespect intended Ted (your boats are gorgeous)...just thought I'd get the groups opinion as well. Many thanks.
