I was having a lot of trouble with fill coats going on and having a curdled appearance instead of a uniform smooth surface. I added a small amount (5%) of laquer thinner to the epoxy and also wiped the surface with thinner before applying it and it created a wonderful, smooth surface. What are the consequences of the epoxy shrinking because of the extra thinning agent?
