I tried to treat the panels with some care until I had them wired up, but a few rough handlings didn't seem to hurt anything. I was most concerned handling the panels while the epoxy was still greenish. To ease my concerns, I moved them by grabbing them along with a 4' scrap of 1x4 that was handy - just grab both the panel and the scrap to both sides of the joint to help keep it flat. For big workshop shuffles, I stacked all the panels together and ran some tape around them. The deck sheer panel (probably #3 on a Tern) was the scary one to move.
I had some epoxy seep thru the joint and wick up the outside of the panels. That can create a smaller, less noticable version of the banding, so you might want to flip the panels and scrape that before it gets too hard. I did on the hull panels but not the deck (makes sense, eh? - I just forgot). If I looked closely I thought I could tell at first, but I might have been imagining it. I can't find it on the finished boat.
I considered ordering more glass so that I could do the deck in one piece. Next time I will, didn't this time because the launch date was coming faster than UPS. For that matter, enough to do the inside hull in 1, too. Dealing with those glass overlaps was easily the fussiest part of the whole build, and $20-30 makes it go away.
