: I had a question. I am planning on taking two skin on frame boats up to lake
: Mono. The road between here and there is prone to heavy cross winds does
: anyone have any experience with skin boats on roof racks in heavy cross
: winds? any suggestions on securing them?
Richard,
The gunwales of a SOF are the strongest part of the frame. I recommend carrying them upside down with the decks resting upon padded crossbars. In addition to straps around the hull I also prefer to use bow and stern lines to secure.
