: The University of Michigan's Student Woodshop--a 30 year-old institution--is
: being closed permanently, due to budget cuts, an extension of the state
: fiscal crises all over the country. This was announced with no warning on
: Wednesday, and made effective immediately.

There is the old college standby of hitting up the alumni. After 30 years of operation, there has got to a few old boys who used the shop and eventually struck it rich.
