Many who ask the same questions are so hot to start cutting wood or slopping epoxy that they don't do their homework and spend a lot of effort re-inventing the wheel.
There are dozens of books that fully explore everything that is discussed here. Mostly we deal with stitch and glue construction (S&G), strip building or skin-on-frame construction.
The time you spend reading the literature will pay off in the long run.
This is a super site but will never replace the books of Nick Schade, Chris Kulczicky, Ted Moores, George Putz, Robert Morris, Wolfgang Brinck.
We're just a bunch of opinionated dwarfs compared to those guys.
With all the books that are available on this topic you could get a Phd. in small boat building before you cut your first piece of wood.
