On a more serious note: home building a SOT appeared on an S&G bulletin board. My first thought was how in the devil would you duplicate the top in plywood? With rotomolding it's a piece of cake. To do it in plywood would require a lot of effort just to build a three dimple top.
You could do it in strips but the amount of glass and resin needed to wad the whole thing together might make it a bit heavy.
This seems to be a case where the polyethylene boys have found a nich where we dare not tread. Some obsessive-compulsive out there will probably do it but I don't think it's worth cranking up the old CAD program for just yet.
