Strip: Guillemot deck recess: Day 3 *Pic*

Had a garage sale on Saturday, so the boat's progress came to a screeching halt.

But...the canoe couldn't be moved, so I managed to work on its accent strip while the sale was on, and I succeeded in making some new friends...it's funny, (okay, it's not) wooden boats are great conversation starters. I guess we've all had the "gas station experience", but people are more fascinated and the project seems more "approachable" by boats in progress.

So, I got one half of the recess done yesterday. It's sanded and ready for exterior glass. Hoping to get the rest stripped in another evening, and get glass on it.

It's not that scary, if any of you are contemplating a "renovation", the hardest thing is dropping that toothy jigsaw blade through the deck. After that, it's all fun and easy.

Is it worth the hassle? I'm not even finished, and know it will be worth the hassle. It was frustrating having a boat I can't side scull or balance brace!!! :D
