The ducks are veneer, inlaid into the hull. I coated one side of the veneer and the inlay part of the hull with several coats of yellow glue, let it dry, and ironed it into place. The veneer tends to curl up when you apply the yellow glue... it helps to keep the clean side damp.

I'm not sure how you measure rocker... the design is scaled only in length. The forms are exactly as Joe designed them: They are spaced closer together and the end forms are also scaled. I left a bit of the stern stem protruding to act as a bit of a skeg (thinking it would be easier to trim it off then to add it on).

Incidentally, those little ducklings are just gasping for air when I (190 lbs) paddle this boat! I had all sorts of ambitious ideas after seeing Joe's Chickadees, but decided to stay within my abilities with a simple design.
