Could you extend an "arm" from a bicycle rack that attaches over the back tire with a loop of webbing? If so then you could use a biner to attach it to the pull on a kayak. Guess it would have to be really short in order to keep travel to a min when braking and accelerating. This would make the kayak ride with one end elevated over the back tire of the bike, but I don't think that would be much of a problem as long as the wheels are far enough back to keep the other end of the kayak off the ground.

The drawings look good. Post some pics when you finish it.
