Tony,

That looks pretty similar to what I'm planning. One difference is that I was thinkin' that having an angled riser in the back instead of a vertical one, just to allow a little extra room to get the knuckles in there for spray skirt installation. And, it looks like at the widest point of things, due to the width of my cockpit, that the recess will just run out the the width of the boat and I'll just end up lowering the sheer a bit in that area. Also, I'll be leaving the forward portion of the combing un-altered. I'm sure that I'll be adjusting my plan to account for things that I haven't considered yet.
We'll see how it goes when the time comes to put the saw to the boat -- I can only hope that I'll be as brave as Shawn...
