On the Guillemot we use a variation on the Greenley soft eyes and routed four 1/2" holes, two front two aft and then filled with black epoxy and then drilled a 1/4" hole though for the 1/4" line. The bow does not have a hatch so fished the line with whipping twine and put stopper knots on the front and pulled the line tite from the aft hatch. We proofed them by hanging on to them for a hour as we rode the flooded kayaks to the beach in 4 to 6 foot surf.We call that Dad's excellant adventure:)
