I cut it with a band saw about 1/8" to the line and then used a sander to get the final shape.

It cut easily. Even with a coping saw. I suspect that it will dull the blade faster than wood.

Do you just glue the two "L"s together

The two "L" that make up the wings are bolted together with stainless bolts through a plastic spacer. There are also two plastic washers between the wings and the rudder so that it can be deployed/retracted easily.

Vaclave sells the plans that show you how to do the whole thing.
