Tonight we installed the eyelets in both our boats. After the holes were drilled we masked off the top of the deck. Then tonight we applied a coat of epoxy to the inside perimeter of the hole and the inside of the deck only around the hole. Then we thickened some epoxy up with collidal silica and brown colorant. Applied it to the shoulder on the inside of the fitting and installed it. When they were all installed we slick a 3/16" fillet around the backside perimeter.
