I used Raka slow on my walrus, My Spring Run has MAS on it.

While I was at SSTIKS, I had several hatch hooks pop off. Joe Greenley looked at it, and had the following comments. Correct me Joe if I mis-understood at all...

WHat happend with my boat is that epoxy gets soft as the temperature rises beyond a certain limit. Each epoxy has a different high temperature limit, and it turns out Raka is a little lower than some others. Larry may be able to shed better light on this. So, as my boat sat in the hot sun with moisture inside it and tension on the internal bungees, the epoxy got soft enough to let go.

As I understand it, print-trhough is a similar problem - the epoxy actually cures more as temp goes up, and as it cures it shrinks a little. Joe heats his boats up in an oven, similar to my paddle oven, before he sands off the fill coats. This eliminates print through of the weave later.

: I am considering using Raka epoxy on my latest stripper and wanted to find
: out others' thoughts on the different hardeners Raka sells. This is a
: clearcoat job. I would appreciate comments on others' experiences.

: Thanks
