I posted a message on the QajaqUSA board 3 weeks ago about the same tiny avataq. You must have small turkeys out there. Mine looked more like the size of a skinned housecat.

I'll post an image of this tomorrow (so the link will be dead tonight)
The second "seal" is using 2" per square and Cunningham's pattern.

: Has anyone made the hunting float in Cunninghams book? I made one last night
: to his scale and mine came out the size of a small turkey.I am curious,
: what size seal was used for this type of float? It seems that they would
: have to provide more bouyancy/drag than one this size is capable of
: delivering. The ones pictured in his book, the ones on the backs of the
: kayaks that are being used, look much larger. The shape looks great, just
: like a seal with no appendages,just a little....small.
: Like I said, I made it to scale and only used a 1/4" seam and it just
: looks like a little burnt up turkey back there on the rear deck. I used
: Shawns black nylon. That is the reason it looks like my wifes Thanksgiving
: turkey .
: Any thoughts on this one? Seems that I read a while back there was some
: discrepency in one of the measurements from another project in his book
: Thanks, Arko
