Here is a pic of the West River 162 which I built from plans starting in january this year.
At the time I purchased the materials 4mm Okume was unavailable, so the boat is constructed of 3mm. The outside of the hull has a single layer of 6oz cloth and the inside of the cockpit also has a single layer of 6 oz. The remaining internal seams are taped with 9oz glass tape. The bulkheads are 3mm glassed and the deck is unglassed.
All up weight is 18kg which I am pretty happy with.
The epoxy used was a product sold in Australia under the name of "Bote Cote"
All in all I am happy with the boat and am looking forward to starting construction of another (merganser) so that I can have company while paddling.
Nickle.
