The telphone poles were about 44 feet with only the butt ends impregnated with cresote. Even then, the cresote only penetrated deeply in cracks. We probably got enough from three poles for five or six boats plus a large stack of dimensional lumber. It was a lot of extra work and a real crap shoot -- until the saw went in, no idea how clear it was. Fortunately, the price was right -- free. When that runs out, Ill probably try and find a few logs -- either from the coast or from one of the wet areas of the province.
