I think if they are glued in place it would be easy enough to cut off (and sand flush later).

I forget what you are building... a Guillemot L? If so, then nicks book calls for a double layer if FG tape to join the hull and deck. So this could then cover a spot you left un glasses along the edge, where the stick was. So Ithink you could go either way.

but I'm not an expert.
