I am *very* happy with the carbon/carboxil/epoxy coating for scratch resistance.
I've only started putting it through its paces, consisting of landing full speed on gravel. (fast enough to slide up to the cockpit). Ive done this 4 or 5 time (have not been out since as i broke my wrist). I've yet to get any scratch through a single layer of the goop.

I use 2 table spoons of carbon, 1 table spoon of carboxil, ans 3 pumps of west epoxy.

It is kinda ugly though, and it may get hot in the sun.

you would not have to worry about the ugly scratches, you already have..

maybe something for you to look into?
