: as it's done, don't even worry about it at all. maybe some things to think
: about on the next one.(the knuckle bashing thought was on
: reentries/scrabbling around, it'll be fine or easy to account for in
: paddling)
: you have thought of ways to deal with perimeter lines and actually done
: something about it. and your kayak is a beautiful testimony to the choices
: you've made and the work that you've cared about to craft.

Thanks! Since my wife is ADD and I am ADHD. We tend to try to think of all of the scenarios that can happen. It takes us forever to make a decision and if we can't make one or it doesn't come easy then we tend to avoid the problem. … We have to overcome this because, after all this is what makes rivers crooked. Having, said that these kayaks have taught us a lot about making decisions. Also we found that you can beat an idea to death if you try. Originally we were going to mount rails both fore and aft of the cockpit. We both thought that they looked nice but, I decided not to because I didn’t want to scuff my knees on them clambering back into the cockpit. I’m sure the next boat I build will be totally different. I will definitely be looking for caveats in regards to deck rigging.
The thing that I hate most about deck rigging is unless you go with plastic or steel mounts it seems like they have to be installed before you join the deck and hull together. We did think about going with all recessed mounts one of the reasons we didn’t is I thought that it would make the bow and stern too hard to adjust while joining the deck to the hull. The bad thing is that we are building two boats at once so if the rails were a bad choice we now have two bad choices or four.
Thanks
