It's worth mentioning that Nick's book is cited in this month's cover story of Wooden Boat magazine. The story is on the Swift Solo sailboat. The builder/designer says he was inspired by The Strip-Built Sea Kayak "Three Rugged Boats You Can Build" and chose wood over foam because wood lasts better season-to-season... foam, he says, will eventually start to flex after a season of racing.

There's also a kayak company I hadn't seen before advertising in the classifieds - Action Fish Kayaks. According to their Web site they are a group of builders out of the Northwest School of Wooden Boat Building. They have a Pt. Townsend address so they would be neighbors to Pygmy and, along with RedFish, the third wooden kayak company on Washington State's Olympic Penninsula. Anyone know more about this outfit?
