Don:
I put a couple of 2x4 uprights on my stands so that I could put the boat on edge while working. I then used a couple of flexible neck clip-on lights fed from on top and shining through the hatches into the ends. It helped seeing into the points of the cave. You can see the clip of the aft light on the upright in the picture.
