In Response To: S&G: Hull-to-deck Seams (Don)
I put the boat up on it's side, wear an LED headlamp, mix small batches, use long sticks with a brush taped on the end for wetting out the fiberglass. If I can I try to glue the strip on the deck before installing it. On some S&G that's not possible so I use shorter strips, start at one end, dab the epoxy on, and work my way out. I also do only one side at a time...and I do only as far to the end as I can get...which is usually within a few inches...but not always. I don't do an endpour...having already dammed a gob on each end...and glue it when I'm ready to stick it together.
