Try contacting manufacturer of varnish. I want to do the same thing so I called Sytem Three. I bought their varnish to go over their epoxy. They said as long as I put on each coat within 24 of each other it would be OK & I wouldn't have to sand between coats. (I HATE SANDING!) Haven't done it yet, but plan on doing so soon so I can get it over with.
