Wedges are the way to go. My deck and hull were way off too. I used the wedges, glassed the seams and all is well.

Few hints:
1. make sure the plywood you use for the wedges is at least 1/2 inch stock. 1/4 inch won't hold to the boat as well with hot glue, not enough surface area.

2. make enough to plce about every 6-8 inches on each side of the boat.

I was really stressed when I first realized that my deck and hull didn't match up, but with the help of this BB (telling me a/b the wedges) I now know that it isn't a big deal.
