Yes. The plans are well detailed. The design is very simple, though the transitions from one cross-section shape to another as you move down the blade are tricky to plane. I have to hold the plane at a 45-degree angle to the push direction while planing the middle part of each blade, so there is less of the plane base in contact with the wood. That way, it can shave off thicker, smoother slices as it twists from a 45-degree angle to almost a zero degree angle.
Chuck Holst actually credits John Heath's article from a 1987 Sea Kayaker article, which Holst took farther (though I haven't read the original article). Anyone got that article? It would be good to read that, too.
