I had tried the wedge system with NO success. But it was because of the glue not the wedge. I had less than 1/2" to pull in and the wedges kept popping off. Before you go and cut 40 of these like I did, try just a few to make sure the glue you are using will work. I did rough up the epoxy along the shear prior to the attempted gluing of the wedge clamps to remove the gloss, but the hot glue I was using didn't hold. Maybe it was the wrong type?

Those with hot glue success might reply to the type of hot glue that worked for you.
