: I have the two halfs of my guillemot together and the whole outside sanded.
: My question is when I apply the fill coat in two stages how do I keep the
: resin from dripping down the sides while it dries? Is this a dumb
: question? Am I going to have drip lines on the sides no matter what?
I just squeegied the epoxy thin enough to cover the surface. Less is better. If you are getting runs, you are applying it too thick. You can apply a couple of coats a day, keeping it thin in this manner. ( depending on your particular epoxy ) Just wait until it gets past the sticky/tacky stage and you can reapply. Again, keep the coats thin.
Still, you can go check it out in an hour and again after that to watch for runs. If you get any, wait until the epoxy gets to a green state and you can scrape them off easily...
