Thanks Frank. The woods are wrc with walnut stripes on either side of the darker wrc. On my test panel there was a good contrast but on the boat it all blended together. The darker wrc I cut so that I could highlight the curly face grain. The inlays are actually veneer. I cut them from a sheet, used two coats of thinned white glue on the back and ironed them in place. Careful sanding and filling with clear epoxy around the edges make them almost flush with the rest of the boat.
