I am in the process of building a Guillimot with strips finished square and I had no praoblems, and saved a few bucks on buying bead and cove router bits. I used some rope and different wedges to force the pieces together and I had very few gaps, and most I was able to seal up with some dookie. If I stick my head in the boat in the sun light I am surprised at how few gaps exist. Bead and Cove are the nicest way to go but in my opinion are not necessary.
