Thanks. Like you, I was concerned with the flex of a frame so shallow ( 6.5")
aft of coaming. Not wanting to use internal bracing and 6 cross sections like
that of the Khatsalano, I opted for 8 instead of 6 cross sections in addition
to bolting the small( 22") one-piece coaming base plate / coaming directly to
the deckridge and cross sections 4 and 5. This, in my mind anyway, is close to
having a continuous deckridge. In addition, this is a 3 section boat,
instead of the FAP-16's five sections. As a result. it is equal to the
Symetrik in stiffness, and a bit stiffer than FAP-16.

An inwale is an option, but I really don't think it's necessary. It holds it's
shape whether held near the ends or in the middle. But dry land flex bears
little resemblance to on the water flex, so I'll know for sure next weekend.
