In Response To: Strip: Skeg on a Guillemot L (Wade)

Hi Wade,

I added a skeg to my 18' Guillemot and the tracking improved considerably. I made mine about 2" high and it's about 2' long. it tappers from the hull to the high point gradually such that if you look down the length it tends to flatten out the rocker and make the keel straight at the stern (if that makes sense). If I were to do it again I would only make it about 8" long and about the same height to reduce weight. I would mount it at the water line where the stern meets the water. I am very happy with the performance. It still turns very easy but tracks now, where in my opinion it didn't before.
