: I am interested in a Great Lakes Meet at The Beach (GLMATB) for all of us
: from the Midwest who want to but, can't attend the east coast one. If
: interested, I have a way to determine where to have it. If interested post
: what great lake you're closest to and what beach - that would allow
: kayakers launching rights - you might frequent. It would be nice to have
: it about mid-august since the water is just now getting warm and my yaks
: are still in two pieces. Tonight I began taping them together for
: seam-glassing.

Hi Mike Hi All,

I like Lions beach at St.Joe,it is a nice area for gathering.The only disadvantage I can think of is that there is no protected water in case of strong winds.Lake michigan is my favorite place to paddle but we wouldn't have any options in case of big surf. Are there any parks that have sheltered paddling and access to Lake Michigan? I like the idea of being on southern Lake Michigan because we may get people from Chicago way also. There is a kayak training camp happening on Aug.22-24,so that weekend doesn't work for me.
