An update:
I decided that I was not having enough fun building the S&G qajariaq, so I stripped the deck.
I hot glued forms from gunwhale to gunwhale; I'll never do that again! Forms came loose from time to time. Also, I opted for construction of a shear clamp, glued to the bottom of the deck.
I used a rolling bevel at the edges of the strips. Because the decks are so flat, many of the strips needed no bevel at all.
No staples were used. However, there were times when every clamp that I own was attached!
Also, I fabricated an el-cheapo vacuum pump from a discarded A/C compressor and $20.00 of parts from the hardware store.That will help with coaming layup chores, but more on that later.
