I am building from the table in Nick's book, but I did modify it a bit, It is 18 feet long and a bit over 22 inches wide (56cm), the heigt is not changed.
I think these changes suits the boat very well, I looks nice.
About the fin; It's only 5/8 inches high (16mm) at the stern, the lenght is 4'6" and it's tapered down to 0. I planed the keel line and started with a 1" strip. The "runner" used on the Mariner kayaks was an inspiration.
My status is: the hatches +lips are finished, coaming finished, I did the outside seams today, A litlle more filling with epoxy is needed and then it's varnish time.
