Hi Jim,
If you were coming past Chicago you see signs for "Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore". The sand dunes go for miles and can be very tall. There are a number of parks along the shore. St.Joe is farther north up the eastern shore.I think we may have a good spot at Holland,Mi. because there is a state park on a lake that opens up to Lake Michigan.I will do a little more research to try and see if that's a good spot.
