Very Impressive.

I'd been looking at your pics as they turned up and it never realy registered exactly what you were building. I must of been too stunned by the woodwork to pay attention.

This has made my mind up!!!!

I was wondering if the coaming around the large cockpit would be able to take a lot of the structural loads. Do you have dimensions for your cockpit and coaming?

Also with regard to stiffening to protect against side intrusion:
How about a shallow wooden rib with glass over th top. It wouldn't need to be very thick to provide a lot of stiffening.

I will try to keep the weight to a minimum as my co paddler is a pretty slight lady (I'm not that big myself) and car topping a heavy double could be hard work for us.

Now I need to finish the merganser and get going on this one....

I only set out to build one boat!!!!! What happened?

It looks beautiful as it is. I cant wait to see it finished.

Happy building.

Nicholas Sheahan.
