: An update: I decided that I was not having enough fun building the S&G
: qajariaq, so I stripped the deck.
Way cool!
: I hot glued forms from gunwhale to gunwhale; I'll never do that again! Forms
: came loose from time to time.
On my Cormorant deck, I hot glued strips vertically from chine to sheer, and at the sheer, I gorilla glued horizontal strips between the opposite verticals. This was pretty tough, and held up well through the stripping.
: I used a rolling bevel at the edges of the strips. Because the decks are so
: flat, many of the strips needed no bevel at all.
Flat boats are fun to strip!
: No staples were used. However, there were times when every clamp that I own
: was attached!
: Also, I fabricated an el-cheapo vacuum pump from a discarded A/C compressor
: and $20.00 of parts from the hardware store. That will help with coaming
: layup chores, but more on that later.
Did you go with the "cheap little sucker" instructions?
