Nice stuff shawn,
the less noise means a tighter fitting skeg without flutter – also means less drag.
as well with the thicker skeg – may get more floatation or at least less water in the box

Sand or gravel? – unfortunately have to compromise somewhere!! (hehe) Did you foil only in/along the waterline and not in the box for more lateral stiffness/strength and less water infiltration?

(Cable/wire problem:
Unfortunately this skeg geometry itself contributes to wire kinking. Because of its cutaway end, this skeg has to deploy more to achieve a given lateral area, than if the whole skeg was pie-slice shaped. altho the rear of the box would be bigger, the whole skeg size and also deployment wire extension could be less for the same effect.) (and if ever going backwards, maybe even safer)

anyway, thoughts for another time.
