The old FD, Flying Duchman, is or was a Olympic class dingy. On of the most classic looking boat I have seen, just a little biased:).With my wife on the wire we could plane up wind in 18 to 20 knot apparent wind. The new dingys with the racks and stuff may be faster but not as pretty.I belived it was designed in the late 50's Gave up that addiction due to the arms race, had a Dr. custumer that had a set of sails from every leading sailmaker with two hulls, figured he had $40,000 in sails alone. He kept one handing in the LR, a walnut veneer hull and deck made in a steel mold,he was single:)
AH,the days of sun blonde hair, fast boats and no payments:) Even in this carazy world, life is still great on the big blue sea:) Don
