After using this skeg last night, it was a lot less noisy when deployed. It

Due to the increased thickness of the new skeg, I would actually expect the new one to have a little more drag when going straight. But if the water attacks the blade at an angle, the foil shape should be more efficient. Since a skeg is used when the boat is being pushed off course, I expect the new skeg should be more efficient most of the time.
