: Do you lay the glass over the outer tape and then trim, or just use the tape
: to catch epoxy drips and runs?

I glassed right to the center of the outer tape and peeled/trimed it back while the glass was still green. This gave me a clean line to blend in with the glass on the deck. I have done this before putting extra layers on the keel for abrasion protection.

I will be making the form and laying carbon this weekend.
