: sand. I probably do more scraping than sanding. I do it between every coat
: of epoxy just to take off any errant high spots, runs, moths (you'll see),
: and high edges on tape. You have to let the epoxy harden for probably a
: least a week...preferably longer...before you try to sand. Aside from
: gumming up, the green epoxy can leave little white deposits in the weave
: as you work. They will show up later. The replacable carbide blades last
: much longer, and do a better job, than the regular steel scrapers.

Thanks for the tips. Looks like I gotta add a scraper to my tool list and save myself some work down the road. Today I cut out my forms for that Great Auk. Made a deal with Nick to build two boats from this plan. Will cut out the second set of forms tomorrow. This project has got my old tired blood boiling. Regards, Glen
