There are two kinds of scrapers talked about on this BB.

One is the paint scrapter type that are sold at construction supply houses. They are a handle with a steel or carbide blade crosswise to the handle. They are good for heavy removal of material.

The second is a cabinet scraper, a flat piece of tool steel. They are nuch more precise at removing material. They require sharpening and creating a hook or burr. They are great for removing epoxy drips, sags and dimples without removing adjacent material. I'm cheap I use a round shafted crome plated screwdriver shaft to burnish the scraper to create the burr.

I have both and would not give up the cabinet scraper.
