Think of us out here as part of your K.A.(Kayakers Anonyomus) group. It's good to vent. Let it all out!!! Now doesn't feel better.

Had the same problem with my tape except that I had 1 inch tape at the ready to replace the "Frayed Goopy Mess". Clamping and internal tapes are easily the most frustrating part of the process..I'd use tape again, even though you have to do a second fill coat to take care of the edges. The outside tapes almost seem like fun compared to the inside. Almost I said. At least you were able to convince the sheers to cooperate ( with the help of ratchet straps that is.)

Looks like a boat now doesn't it?
