: Brian,
: So, it looks like the issues surrounding hull racking due to sail generated
: forces have been nicely addressed. Is the aft rig going to be smaller than
: the 20' forward stick?
The rig has changed. It's a schooner now with an overlapping foresail.
: I'd like to know what you're planning for your foils and the system for
: mounting them. Are you going for a pair of high aspect blades that can
: kick up for beaching and thin water?
I'll have a leeboard near the kayak, and lifting foils for reaching out at the amas (floats) All of which will kick up. If not for beaching than for all the lobster pots around here! I was out in a 42ft trimaran, and we got hung up twice!
: Really, your boat looks like it's going to be blast to sail when it's done.
: Do you have a target in mind for getting it on the water?
: Chris
Thanks.
I'm hoping this year. The akas (crossbeams) are what take all the loads and make all the power. Getting it strong enought w/o being an aerodynamic bomb is the real trick.
