I can vouch for Morris' book and building method. I built my boat at Rob's shop in Vancouver BC in about 40 hours. (first boat for me.) Based on what I've seen of your work on the web, you'd find this construction method pretty straight forward and you'd make pretty short work of it. This boat is an absolute joy to paddle and is a $#@! rocket. Maybe not as fast as a baidarka, but much, much faster than my stripper.
